What a joy it was to read My Oxford Year by Julia Whelan.  I tweeted last month that it was "like porn for English Majors," which got a few laughs - especially from English Majors!

Ella Durran's career in politics is just taking off when she decides to take the opportunity to fulfill a dream she's had from childhood: attending Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. Little does she know that this decision will have far-reaching consequences for the rest of her life; for when an accidental run-in with a "posh prat" local results in an unexpected romance, Ella has to decide what matters more: her career or her heart.

The author's descriptions of the Oxford campus and surrounding town are wonderfully vivid, as is the cast of secondary characters. With a heartwarming story line, engaging characters, hilarious dialogue and true emotional depth, this novel is a winner, even for those who are not English Majors!!  5 stars!
